I'm Singing in the Rain, I'm Singing in the Rain

It's such a lovely rainy day today. It is such a relief from the crazy heat of the last few days. Just a random post today with a few pictures of my life because I am in bed procrastinating in between studying :)

Crucify Your Mind

I decided to create this post in anticipation of the colder months of the year. We are headed for Autumn on this side of the equator. Although, honestly, I do not feel it yet. It is still so hot I can barely motivate myself to do anything! But, it is starting to get darker earlier in the evenings (which upsets me because that fact that it is still light until after 8 pm is one of my favourite things about Summer.) And because I am an insomniac and hardly ever sleep I also know that the sun is starting to rise later in the mornings. The most I sleep a night is usually 4 or 5 hours and never continuously, I have terrible nightmares and wake up constantly. What keeps you awake at night??

Even though I am going to miss Summer, I am actually looking forward to the cooler seasons. What is your favourite season?? :)

Love & light,
M xx

Searching for Sugar Man

I was so thrilled to hear that Searching for Sugar Man won the Oscar for Best Documentary!!! It is one of the best films I have watched in a really long time. It is one of those that really stick with you even after the credits roll. It seems that some of the best recent films are made be Swedish filmmakers - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Let the Right One In (both the original Swedish versions, not the American remakes), great Swedish directors like Mikael Håfström (1408 is one of my favourite movies!!!), and now Searching for Sugar Man - which is directed by Malik Bendjelloul. A friend gave me the DVD for my birthday and I watched it practically the next day. I won't give anything away, but it left me in tears, yet also hopeful and inspired. Living in South Africa I have known and loved Rodriguez's music, but this film took his story to another level. I recommend everyone should watch it!

Have you seen Searching for Sugar Man?? What did you think??

What do you think of my Searching for Sugar Man inspired outfit post?? :)

Put Me Onto Your Black Motorcycle

    Sequins & leather

So I'm feeling particularly rebellious today so I've decided to post this look. I guess there is always an edge when it comes to sequined shorts, a leather jacket and chunky boots. TO be honest, I feel rebellious quite often. I believe that it's always better to challenge accepted ideas, there is always room for something new. What do you guys think?? How do you rebel??
